Ostita Grey Black

The most austere collection in the Ostita family. Outside, matte graphite - the colour of wet asphalt and pencil lead; inside, glossy black in which a candle is reflected. Grey Black was made for the evening, for the city and for those who prefer restraint to decoration.

Fluted ridges on a dark glaze work like architecture: the ribs catch the light, the hollows hold the shadow, and a plate looks like the facade of a well-designed building. Food looks more expensive on graphite - chefs have known this for years. Greens brighter, sauce cleaner, bread more golden. The black heart of the bowls and mugs adds depth: ramen, chilli and espresso disappear into the dark and come back as flavour.
